Arcare, Jackson Purchase Medical Center collaborate to keep care close to home in Hickman
October 21, 2026
Arcare is collaborating with Jackson Purchase Medical Center and Fulton County leaders to protect access to care and bring more services to Hickman. Arcare’s mobile clinic began weekly visits on Thurs., Oct. 15, at 2003 S. 7th St. Arcare plans to open a permanent clinic and pharmacy in the same location in the spring of 2027.
Following the departure of its sole provider, Jackson Purchase Primary Care – Hickman Clinic saw its last patients on Sept. 29. To keep care in town, Jackson Purchase Medical Center, Arcare, and Fulton County leaders, including Judge-Executive Jim Martin, worked together on a smooth handoff for patients in Hickman and surrounding Fulton County communities.
“Our team has been proud to care for our neighbors in Hickman for nearly a decade,” said Dave Anderson, CEO of Jackson Purchase Medical Center. “We are committed to ensuring our patients have continued access to the care they need, and we are grateful that Arcare said yes to Hickman.”
Hickman has been without a local pharmacy since the summer of 2025. Arcare brings primary care and pharmacy services together under one brand, so patients experience a coordinated care effort from providers and pharmacy teams.
The mobile clinic will offer primary care, including sick visits, checkups and wellness exams, preventive screenings, vaccines, and ongoing care for chronic conditions. It will be in Hickman every Thursday. As with all Arcare locations, patients can be seen regardless of insurance or ability to pay.
“Hickman has been well cared for, and we don’t take lightly the trust that comes with this handoff,” said Chris Gibson, Arcare COO. “‘Health for All’ means every family should be able to get care close to home, whatever their insurance. We’re starting with weekly visits and building from there, and we’re here for the long haul.”
Jackson Purchase Medical Center will continue to work closely with Arcare to care for Hickman patients, providing specialist care and outpatient diagnostic services when they need them. Former Jackson Purchase patients are welcome to continue care with Jackson Purchase Primary Care in their Clinton or Fulton Clinic locations or establish care with Arcare or another provider of their choice.
Until the permanent clinic and pharmacy open, the mobile clinic will serve patients in Hickman each Thursday.
Patients can also visit Arcare’s nearby clinics in Fulton, at 2006 Holiday Lane, and Clinton, at 308 S. Washington St., Suite 200. Arcare also operates a pharmacy in Clinton at 107 E. Clay St.
