AREA OBITUARIES – Thomas "Tommy" Thompson

Thomas “Tommy” Edwin Thompson “Pa” passed away peacefully at 2:15 p.m. on Fri., April 3, 2026, at his son’s home in Paducah, Ky.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1950, in Fulton, Ky., to the late Delbert Thompson and Mildred Babb Thompson.
Tommy was a graduate of Murray State University and worked most of his life as a store manager at E.W. James in Martin, Tenn. He was a lifelong resident of the area.
He was a proud father, grandfather and UK basketball fan. He spent his final days peacefully lounging in the sun while listening to his favorite classic rock songs.
Tommy is survived by a son, Bryan (Tabetha) Thompson, of Paducah, Ky.; and two granddaughters, Kaytlin Thompson, of Chicago, Ill., and Shelby Thompson, of Casa Grande, Ari.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Mildred (Babb) Thompson; and his beloved dog, Annie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., April 11, 2026 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
